Anderson County Jail Roster

The Anderson County jail roster is a publicly available resource that lists individuals currently held at the Anderson County Detention Center in South Carolina. AndersonCourt.us can help you find publicly available information about current and recent inmates. You can also access jail roster information through the Anderson County Sheriff's Office website, by visiting the detention center in person, or by calling the facility directly. A jail roster search allows the public to verify whether someone is in custody, review the charges filed against them, and confirm booking details. The roster is maintained by the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, which publishes weekly booking reports online and receives approximately 4,500 new arrests each year.

Search Current Inmates in Anderson County Jail

There are several ways to look up someone currently held at the Anderson County Detention Center (ACDC).

Online Search

  1. Visit AndersonCourt.us to search publicly available court and inmate record information for Anderson County.
  2. Go to the Weekly Bookings page on the Anderson County Sheriff's Office website. This page lists individuals booked into the detention center at the request of various law enforcement agencies.
  3. The weekly bookings page displays a browsable list of recent bookings. Because there is no dedicated search field on the page, use your browser's built-in find function (Ctrl+F on a PC or Command+F on a Mac) to locate a specific name.

To search effectively, you should have:

  • The individual's full legal name (first and last)
  • A booking number, if known

Juvenile offenders are excluded from the public roster.

By Phone

Call the Anderson County Detention Center directly to ask whether a specific individual is currently in custody. Staff can typically confirm custody status and provide basic booking information over the phone.

In Person

You can visit the detention center lobby during regular business hours to request inmate information.

Find Anderson County Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created each time an individual is processed into the Anderson County Detention Center. During intake, jail staff generate a record that typically includes:

  • Booking number
  • Date and time of booking
  • Charges at the time of arrest
  • Arresting agency (which may be the Sheriff's Office, Anderson Police Department, or another law enforcement agency)
  • The individual's name, date of birth, and physical descriptors

The weekly bookings page on the Sheriff's Office website is the primary online source for recent booking records. Each entry on the list corresponds to a single booking event and displays the charges and arresting agency.

If you need booking records that are no longer displayed on the weekly list, contact the Detention Center to ask about records requests. Under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act (Title 30), booking records are generally considered public, though the facility may require a written request and applicable fees for copies.

For court case records tied to a booking, use the Anderson County Public Index through the South Carolina Judicial Branch to look up criminal case dockets, hearing dates, and dispositions.

Search the Anderson County Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The Anderson County weekly bookings page presents entries in a list format. There are two practical ways to find someone:

Search by Last Name

  1. Open the weekly bookings page.
  2. Use your browser's find function (Ctrl+F or Command+F).
  3. Type the individual's last name. If the name is common, add the first name to narrow results.

Tips:

  • Use the exact legal spelling. Nicknames and aliases may not appear on the roster.
  • If a hyphenated last name doesn't return results, try searching each part of the name separately.
  • Partial name searches work with the browser find tool — typing the first few letters of a last name can help if you're unsure of the full spelling.

Search by Booking Number

If you already have a booking number — from a bond receipt, attorney correspondence, or prior inquiry — enter it in the browser find field to jump directly to that record.

No Results?

If your search returns nothing:

  • The person may have already been released. The roster reflects current and very recent bookings only.
  • The person may be held under a slightly different name spelling or legal name.
  • The booking may not yet have been posted. There can be a delay between intake and when the record appears online.
  • Call the Detention Center at (864) 260-4667 to verify custody status directly.
  • If the person has been transferred to state custody, use the SC Department of Corrections inmate search instead.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Anderson County

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office publishes booking information on a weekly cycle. This means the online roster is not a real-time feed — there may be a gap of several days between when someone is booked and when their name appears on the website.

Key limitations to keep in mind:

  • Update frequency: The weekly bookings page is refreshed periodically rather than continuously. For the most current custody information, call the Detention Center directly.
  • Post-release removal: Once an individual is released — whether on bond, by court order, or after serving their sentence — their record may be removed from the active roster. The page is not an archive of all past bookings.
  • Data entry delays: During high-volume booking periods, there may be a lag between when an arrest occurs and when the record is entered into the system and published online.
  • Scope: The roster covers only individuals booked into the Anderson County Detention Center. It does not include people held in municipal jails, federal facilities, or state prisons. For state inmates, check the SC Department of Corrections website.
  • No historical search: If you need records from weeks or months ago, the online roster will not help. Contact the Detention Center or submit a records request through the Sheriff's Office.

For criminal background information beyond the jail roster, the SLED CATCH system allows authorized users to run statewide criminal records checks through the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
